The sole design aspect that may appeal to some is the huge DRAG branding on the device’s rear. It is, however, much milder than on past Voopoo items, and it has grown on me.The build quality of the Drag X and S is outstanding, from the properly click button to the pod connection.
The screen is also good and realistic, as well as bright enough to be seen in direct sunlight.
Features
Drag X VooPoo
When it comes to features, the Drag X & S have everything you’d expect from a premium pod system. They come with the superb GENE.TT chipset. The screen clearly displays all the information, including wattage, voltage, resistance, and a battery meter. The Drag X and S are distinguished using a single 18650 battery in the former and an inbuilt 2600 mAh battery in the latter.
This does imply that the features and power on offer differ slightly. The Drag X has a power range of 5-80W, but the Drag S only has a power range of 5-60W.
Both devices offer a ‘smart’ mode that keeps the mod securely within the specified wattage range for the attached coil and prevents you from overheating and burning out the coil.
The Drag X, on the other hand, allows you to utilizean ‘RBA’ mod to further manage your own wattage, which is especially useful if you get your hands on Voopoo’s RBA pod.
Nonetheless, both Drag gadgets are amazing; the only difference is whether you prefer an internal or external battery. They both have USB-C fast charging, which is fantastic.
The Coils/Pod
Drag X VooPoo
We’ve gone over the many options for Voopoo’s PnP coils and how to use the pods. For more information on each, see our Voopoo Drag Max review.
The essential point to emphasize here is that the pods are magnetically attached to the Drag device. They have a 4.5ml juice capacity and a simple fill port. The PnP coil variety is likewise fantastic, with many coil types to suit everyone.
The top half of the pod serves as a mouthpiece and has a duck-bill form, but it is incredibly comfortable to use. It’s unclear whether Voopoo will release pods with different resistance coils inside, but the 0.7 appears to work well for the kit’s intended purpose.
Performance
Again, I won’t go into too much depth on the Drag devices’ performance. If you’ve used any of Voopoo’s PnP coils before, you know what to expect in terms of performance; they’re fantastic.
The PNP coils provide excellent flavor and overall performance. The GENE.TT chipset performs admirably, with nearly immediate firing and high efficiency.
The one little drawback I have with the Drag line is that, while the airflow control is good and smooth, it doesn’t seem to become tight enough to produce a real MTL vape. However, if you prefer your MTL a little looser, you’ll be alright.
Life of the Battery
The battery life of the Drag modifications varies depending on the one you choose. The Drag S features an inbuilt 2600 mAh battery that works well. Of course, if you use an external 18650 battery, the Drag X will have a longer range.
Verdict
At first, I felt it was an odd kit for Voopoo to produce; why would someone who wants a Drag X or S also want a smaller, less capable pod?
Taking the time to analyze it, though, it makes great sense, especially as a Christmas gift set. It’s a reasonable package, and the VMate is a fantastic pod system to give to another smoker you know. It’s as simple as a vape device gets and functions admirably.
Even if you don’t have anybody to give the VMate to, it’s a useful small companion to have about.
